Joep van Gelder, week 46, Internship ACE@VU

Joep van Gelder

Hello everyone. Today, our guide for the internship is not able to meeting us. This does not mean, however, that we are not going to work. Today, we are going to finish the draft version of our survey, of which I do not need to tell anymore that it will be conducted among approximately 70 master students of entrepreneurship. Yesterday, we also worked on this draft version and we already came up with several questions, as well as categories that should be discussed and analyzed. These are to be expanded, but there is a good basis as it stands now.

One of the other to do’s is making a powerpoint slide in which five different definitions of either gazelle firms or gazelle entrepreneurs are given. This slide will be presented during one of the college lectures of the master in entrepreneurship. As stated in earlier blogs, there are many different definitions of gazelles and the conducted researches are hardly linked to each other because of these differences. Notwithstanding, like we did for our research – and still do, we are going to make a good list, as the honor to make such a slide for master students also brings some pressure.

Furthermore, we welcomed a regular visitor today, who asked about the progress of our research. As always, he was very enthusiastic and he gave us some advice, for example regarding the approach of contacting gazelle firms and entrepreneurs. It is nice to see that this man is so enthusiastic and helpful and I’d wish that there were more people that came by regularly, as, besides that they are very helpful, it is a good possibility to get to know new people. Next week, we might go to several offices ourselves, in order to stimulate this process. See you next week!
