An essential tool in the improvement of the gap amongst science & business is that literature what students will learn at the SBI minor, can be directly turned into practice by visiting and interacting with existing companies.
In last monday’s session, Carsten & I discussed a way in order to be able to get in contact with a wide variety of firms who are prepared to provide different kinds of cases to students of the SBI minor in order to put their learnt theory into practice in a real company.
We already set up a global plan on a time-line in order to realize the interaction with the firms and to get into action. This we have done with the help of Peter who mainly helped us with the global set-up of the time-line that there is a kind of overlap between an theoretical course and a practical course. A group of students will pointed to a company, and the company will introduce themselves and what they usually do. Later on, the company will provide a case for the students and the students must work on it, till the end of the minor. In the first period, participants of the minor have to set up an idea in the opportunity recognition with their company. Later on, in the exploitation phase of the entrepreneurial process they have to explore if their case is real and if they are able to set-up a real business plan in order to improve their initial concept and to explore if it is possible to set-up their concept. In the last period the students will write a business plan amongst the concept and they will present their plan to the company and to a number of professors and/or assistance.
